Continuing Resolution Extends Key Immigration Programs Through December 16

On December 11, 2015, the U.S. House of Representatives followed the U.S. Senate in passing a continuing resolution to fund the government through December 16. The President will sign the bill, giving all parties five days to pass long-term funding for federal government functions.

Of interest to those of us who are interested in immigration, this will extend the EB5, Conrad 30 J Waiver Program [see article], Special Immigrant Non-Minister Religions Worker Programs, and E-Verify for the duration of the continuing resolution. While the expectation is that the Congress will reach an agreement on federal funding and that all four programs will be extended, it is still likely that the EB5 Regional Center Program will see certain changes in the final agreement.
