On January 26, 2017, I reported that President Donald Trump had tweeted that he would announce his Supreme Court nominee on February 2, 2017. However, at 5:43 AM on January 30, 2017, the President amended the date with a new Twitter post:

I have made my decision on who I will nominate for The United States Supreme Court. It will be announced live on Tuesday at 8:00 P.M. (W.H.)

- President Donald Trump

To learn in brief about the individuals reportedly under consideration, please see my previous blog post about the original date [see blog]. Please see another blog post about a pair of interesting immigration decisions from one of the candidates, Judge Neil Gorsuch of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit [see blog].

I will write about the nominee in detail after the President's announcement.
