On October 9, 2019, the U.S. Department of State (DOS) published the Visa Bulletin for November 2019, containing the dates for filing and final action dates for family-sponsored and employment-based immigrant visa petitions during the month. On October 18, 2019, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) determined that both family-sponsored and employment-based beneficiaries of approved immigrant visa petitions in the preference categories must use the more favorable filing dates to determine eligibility to file for adjustment of status in November 2019.

EOIR Releases FY 2019 Case Completion Statistics

The Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) released its case completion statistics for fiscal year 2019 on October 10, 2019. From October 1, 2019, through September 30, 2019, the EOIR completed more than 275,000 cases. This is the second highest number of completed cases in EOIR’s history, and roughly 80,000 more completed cases than fiscal year 2018.
