The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (“USCIS”) is publishing a revised version of the Form I-129 on January 17, 2025. The new 01/17/25 edition of the Form I-129 replaces the previous 04/01/24 edition.
The USCIS often offers a “grace period” when it introduces a new form wherein it will continue to accept the previous version of the form for a certain specified period. However, the USCIS emphasizes that there will be no grace period for transitioning to the 01/17/25 Form I-129. The USCIS “will not accept the 04/01/24 edition of Form I-129 if it is received on or after January 17, 2025.” The USCIS will only accept the 04/01/24 edition of the form is received before January 17, 2025. Going forward, Form I-129 filers must ensure that they are using the new 01/17/25 edition of the Form I-129.
