On August 31, 2018, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that it is raising the premium processing fee for the Form I-129, Petition for a Nonimmigrant Worker and Form I-140, Immigrant Petition for Alien Worker [PDF version].

The premium processing fee increase will take effect on October 1, 2018. The new premium processing fee will be $1,410, a 14.92-percent increase from the prior fee of $1,225. The fee increase is based on the change in the Consumer Price Index for all Urban Consumers since the fee was last set in 2010.

Premium processing requests are filed on the Form I-907, Request for Premium Processing Service. We have full articles on the premium processing of Form I-129 petitions [see article] and Form I-140 petitions [see article].

Petitioners with case-specific questions about premium processing should consult with an experienced immigration attorney.
