The USCIS released a new FAQ on change of status from B visitor status to F1 or M1 student status, including when an extension of B1 or B2 status would be needed.
We example B1 entertainers and artists and B2 amateur entertainers. We look at specific categories such as B1 participants in cultural programs and still photographers
We examine B1 in lieu of H1 and B1 in lieu of H3, including situations involving honorarium payments and medical doctors.
B1 status is available in limited cases for B1 commercial or industrial workers, foreign airline employees, and other limited cases in lieu of a different NIV category.
B1 visas and B1 status are sometimes available to those in voluntary service programs, evangelical tours, yacht crewman, and other specific situations.
