2016 Presidential Candidate Profile: Martin O'Malley

Martin O’Malley is a fairly typical tax-and-spend liberal Democrat who seems to have virtually no chance of winning the Democratic nomination. It should go without saying that I do not consider this a great loss.

2016 Presidential Candidate Profile: Bernie Sanders

Senator Sanders’ positions are catastrophically bad across the board. I find the Senator from Vermont to be an exceptionally poor candidate even after adjusting for my low expectations for Democratic candidates.

2016 Presidential Candidate Profile: Hillary Clinton

Although Clinton would be an improvement on Israel over the atrocious Obama/Kerry policies of the last three years, she would be far worse for Israel than nearly all of the Republican candidates. I do not have a horse in the Democratic race, but a second President Clinton would probably be the least bad (everything is relative) of the three options. However, I hope that she is defeated in the general election by a strong Republican such as Chris Christie, Marco Rubio, or Jeb Bush.

2016 Presidential Candidate Profile: Mike Huckabee

Mike Huckabee is far from the best candidate in this field. His intense focus and rigidity on social issues would serve to damage the Party and important conservative issues in the general election. While he has a reputation as a conservative, his record as Governor of Arkansas pales in comparison to the allegedly (in some circles) moderate Jeb Bush and Chris Christie. Although he would certainly be better than Hillary Clinton, he is weak relative to the strong field of Republican candidates in 2016.

2016 Presidential Candidate Profile: Lindsey Graham

I have always admired Senator Graham’s principles and passion for strengthening the Republican Party. On foreign policy, Senator Graham has been a true friend of Israel. While I question some of his policy preferences in Syria, he always brings an important and educated perspective to our foreign policy debates. Ultimately, his campaign is too weak to consider voting for, but his perspective and insight make every debate that he is a part of worth watching.
