On October 12, 2018, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that construction has begun on a new home for the USCIS Texas Service Center [PDF version]. The new Texas Service Center is being constructed “at the northwest corner of President George Bush Turnpike and Beltline Road in Irving, Texas, near Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.” The Texas Service Center “will be the sole occupant of the planned 267,000-square-foot-building…”

The current Texas Service Center spans “three buildings on two campuses that are 17 miles apart.” The new Texas Service Center will consolidate these three campuses into one facility. It is expected to be completed in spring of 2020. The USCIS states that it “will help streamline operations” at the Texas Service Center.
