On May 28, 2019, Acting Secretary of Homeland Security, Kevin McAleenan, announced that Mark Morgan would begin serving as the Acting Director of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).1 President Donald Trump had nominated Morgan to become the permanent ICE Director several months earlier.
