Monique Ferrell is a 1981 graduate of the University of Texas Law School. Prior to that, she served as an officer in the United States Army. She began her legal career as a staff attorney with the Exxon Corporation, USA, and subsequently spent 26 years as an assistant district attorney with the Office of the Kings County (Brooklyn) District Attorney. After rising to the position of Deputy Chief of the Appeals Bureau, she was involved in the investigation and prosecution of complex felony crimes while she served as Chief Counsel to the Rackets Division and Executive Assistant District Attorney. She represented the Kings County District Attorney in numerous appellate and trial cases in state and federal courts, including the New York State Court of Appeals and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. Since leaving public service, Ms. Ferrell has represented individuals with current or former criminal cases that pose an impediment to their continued residence in the United States. She is admitted to practice in New York state and federal courts.
